US Davos Labs National Working Group: COVID-19 Response

Palo Alto Hub Member David Capelli led coordination with Los Angeles, Jacksonville, San Diego, Austin and Boston hubs to synthesize 60+ local dialogues on the COVID pandemic and society culminating in a series of recommendations for United States federal government and corporate executives to ensure a resilient and equitable recovery from the pandemic while cultivating and supporting the next generation of leaders to address converging North American challenges in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

EduWorkAble (Formerly JourneyFlows)

EduWorkAble seeks to help people with disabilities to further their educational and career goals. We aim to mentor adults with disabilities to become strong candidates for employment. We seek to motivate young people and adults with disabilities to further their education. We will inform people with disabilities of educational and career advancement opportunities via panels, resume-review workshops, 1-on-1 office hours, and more.

Shapers Pipeline Project

An initiative that provides cities with talented young leaders to fill various vacancies and roles across advisory bodies.

The WEF PA Global Shapers Pipeline Project aims to build a pipeline between the Global Shapers community, under 40 diverse persons, and the appointed advisor positions across the region. Elected officials across municipalities, counties, states in the country are supported by advisor bodies - commissions, boards and advisor positions.In December 2020 we hosted our inaugural event with Hon. Ellen Kamei - Mayor of Mountain View (Former Environmental Planning Commissioner)

COVID-19 SPEAKER SERIES TO SPARK ACTION

Many people want to take action to help those affected by COVID-19, but they lack straightforward, reliable information related to urgent issues facing us: healthcare, housing, income inequality etc. Our speaker series addresses this need. All events are open to the community.

 

FUNDRAISER FOR SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK

Since the pandemic, food banks in our state are experiencing a 73% increase in demand for food. We are supporting the Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley through a fundraiser.
